Thanksgiving Meal Kit Prep for Needy CT Families

7th annual 'Gift of Gobble' event a labor of love for KBE Building Corp.

​To help various Connecticut community and non-profit organizations raise awareness of and meet the growing needs of disadvantaged local families, volunteers from KBE Building Corp. will assemble and deliver 200 Thanksgiving dinners during the firm’s seventh annual “Gift of Gobble” event on Nov. 21.

Including this year’s donations, KBE has donated more than 1,000 Thanksgiving meal kits to needy families since the program started in 2009.

WHAT:          

KBE volunteers and their families will assemble and deliver the 200 meal kits containing all the ingredients of a classic Thanksgiving dinner—turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, beans, potatoes, yams, rolls, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and a roasting pan—to the following local community and non-profit organizations in CT.

  • American Legion Post 12 – Norwalk, CT
  • Cardinal Shehan Center – Bridgeport, CT
  • Catholic Charities of Hartford – Hartford, CT
  • Columbus House – Middletown and New Haven, CT
  • Farmington Community Services – Farmington, CT
  • Fish Food Pantry – Torrington, CT
  • Gemma Moran United Way/Labor Food Center – New London, CT
  • Jewish Senior Services – Fairfield, CT
  • Wounded Warrior – East Hartford, CT

KBE purchased all food items from Bozzuto’s, Inc., and W.B. Mason donated the boxes.

WHEN:                    

Meal kit assembly will occur on Sat., Nov. 21 starting at 8:00 a.m.

Delivery will begin after all boxes have been assembled, tentatively at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 21. Please call Jonelle Lawhorn at 860.836.7517 on the morning of Nov. 21 for a more precise start time for delivery.
