THIS SATURDAY - Thanksgiving Meal Boxes Prep for CT Families in Need

8th annual "Gift of Gobble, Thanksgiving's On US" event, a labor of love for KBE Building Corp.

​To help various Connecticut community and non-profit organizations raise awareness of and meet the growing needs of local families in need, volunteers from KBE Building Corp. will assemble and deliver 228 Thanksgiving dinner boxes during the firm’s eighth annual “Gift of Gobble” event on Nov. 19.

Including this year’s donations, KBE has donated more than 1,375 Thanksgiving meal boxes to families in need since the program started in 2009.

WHAT:          

KBE volunteers and their families will assemble and deliver the 228 Turkey dinner boxes containing all the ingredients for a classic Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, beans, potatoes, yams, rolls, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and a roasting pan to the following local community and non-profit organizations in CT.

  • American Legion Post 12 – Norwalk, CT
  • Bloomfield Social & Youth Services – Bloomfield, CT
  • Cardinal Shehan Center – Bridgeport, CT
  • Catholic Charities of Hartford – Hartford, CT
  • Columbus House – Middletown and New Haven, CT
  • Fish Food Pantry – Torrington, CT
  • Gemma Moran United Way/Labor Food Center – New London, CT
  • Southington Community Services – Southington, CT
  • Waterbury Youth Services – Waterbury, CT

KBE purchased all food items from Bozzuto’s, Inc., and W.B. Mason donated all the boxes.

WHO:   

Connecticut families in need, staff members from local non-profit organizations, and KBE Building Corp. and Elite Construction Rentals, Inc., staff members and their families.

Many of the family members attending this year’s event have been helping KBE volunteers since the firm’s inaugural Gift of Gobble event in 2009. Four children of KBE employees will be available for interviews at the event. Their names are listed below.

  • Luke, age 13, from Madison, CT

WHEN:                    

Meal box assembly will occur on Sat., Nov. 19 starting at 8:00 a.m.

Delivery will begin after all boxes have been assembled, tentatively at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 19. Please call Jonelle Lawhorn at 860.836.7517 on the morning of Nov. 19 for a more precise start time for delivery.   

KBE family members listed above will be available for live TV and radio interviews beginning at about 8:30 am.
