40 MD Families in Need to Enjoy Their Own Classic Thanksgiving Dinner Thanks to KBE Building Corp

Gift of Gobble 2016

8th annual 'Gift of Gobble' is firm's signature philanthropic event

Forty families in need in the Howard County area will enjoy their own classic Thanksgiving dinner, courtesy of volunteers from KBE Building Corp.’s Mid-Atlantic regional office and Harris Teeter grocery stores.

During the firm’s 8th annual “Gift of Gobble” event on Nov. 21, KBE personnel assembled 40 meal boxes containing all the ingredients of a classic Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, beans, potatoes, yams, rolls, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and a roasting pan.

The meal kits were donated to the following organizations on Nov. 21:

  • Catholic Charities Sarah’s House (20 baskets)
  • Bridges to Housing Stability Howard County (20 baskets)

Special thanks to Harris Teeter for their generous donation toward the purchase of the basket items.

“Gift of Gobble is our signature event because it perfectly sums up the reason why we started our 50 Ways to Make a Difference program,” said KBE principal owner and CEO Mike Kolakowski, who bought the firm in 2007 with fellow senior executives Eric Brown and Simon Etzel. “It’s great that we can come together with our colleagues and our families to make a difference in the community.”

KBE’s Northeast regional office in Connecticut also assembled and delivered 228 donated meal kits to needy families across the state.

It’s All Because of 50 Ways

KBE’s 8th annual ‘Gift of Gobble’ event is possible because of the firm’s corporate philanthropic program, 50 Ways to Make a Difference.

Established in 2009 to celebrate the firm’s new ownership, name change, and 50 years in business, 50 Ways has helped KBE associates donate nearly $2 million and 12,000 volunteer hours to charitable causes benefiting children, seniors, and military veterans in Connecticut and Maryland.
